Viewpoint Janjač

One of the highest mountain peaks on Tara is Janjač, not well known among tourists. It is located near the village Zaovine at the border to Bosnia and Herzegovina. From here, you can see the whole region around Zaovine, parts of the Tara massif and the Crni vrh (Black peak).

With favorable weather conditions it is possible to see the town of Višegrad and the famous bridge on the Drina river described in the book Na Drini Ćuprija written by the Serbian Nobel Prize winner Ivo Andrić.

Viewpoint Sjenič

This lookout is on Crni Vrh (Black peak) where you can find a 12 meter high watchtower. The view spans from the forests of Tara, across the Dervente canyon, to the lake Perućac. From here you can clearly see the route used 100 years ago for a ropeway. The felled forest material descended to the river Drina, and was further loaded on rafts towards the final destination.
